Studies cast doubt on education policy

Two new academic studies have cast doubt on the government's education policies.

A report from the London School of Economics for the Sutton Trust finds that the expansion of university places has failed to help the poorest members of society.

And a Cardiff University study says that Labour's policy of giving more cash to schools in deprived areas has not increased attainment.
