Junior minister David Lammy has promised to take the complaints of his Tottenham constituents to the top of the Ikea store organisation, following Wednesday night's stampede at the opening of its new Edmonton store.

The MP, who is a minister in the Department of Constitutional Affairs, said he wants the company to explain its advertising and infrastructure policies.
