Both health ministers of the devolved assemblies were re-appointed to their cabinet positions following May's elections.
Scottish Parliament First Minister Jack McConnell re-appointed Malcolm Chisholm MSP as Minister for Health and Community Care, with Tom McCabe MSP appointed as his deputy.
Their remit includes: NHS, community care, health service reform, health improvement, health promotion, public health, allied healthcare services, acute, primary and mental health services, addiction services, pharmaceutical services, performance, quality and improvement framework and food safety.
In the Welsh Assembly, First minister Rhodri Morgan controversially re-appointed Jane Hutt AM as Minister for Health and Social Services, despite criticism that she had mismanaged hospital waiting lists. John Griffiths AM was also appointed as deputy health and social care minister.
Their devolved responsibilities include: health and NHS Wales; social Services and social care; and food safety.
