Biography

Geoffrey Robinson was first elected Member of Parliament for Coventry North West in March 1976.  Geoffrey was educated at Emanuel School and Cambridge and Yale Universities. 

Before entering Parliament Geoffrey was a Research assistant for the Labour Party,1965-68; Senior Executive Industrial Reorganisation Corporation, 1968-70, Financial controller for British Leyland, 1971-72, Managing Director of Leyland Inocenti, 1972-73 and Chief Executive of Jaguar Cars, 1973-75. Geoffrey served as the Paymaster General for the Treasury between 1997 to 1998.

Geoffrey is a member of the Transport and General Workers Union and the Fabian Society. His special interests include the economy, industry, regional policy and football.
