Around 300,000 people live and work in Coventry, it is home to two exceptional universities that welcome students from around the world, a passionate football team with a new stadium in the form of the Rioch Arena and is a thriving and forward looking community. Steeped in history, Coventry has a unique culture and background that is symbolized by its remarkable Cathedral built upon the ashes of its ancient predecessor, metres away from the iconic statue of Lady Godiva. The people of Coventry have always been and will continue to be the cities most valuable asset united in their diversity and ambition.

Coventry twinned with Dresden after World War Two becoming the first town to twin with a city from another country. It is now twinned with 26 cities around the world including Kingston, Jamaica, Bologna, Italy and Warsaw in Poland.

Geoffrey Robinson was first elected at a by-election on 4th March 1976, his predecessor was Maurice Edelman (Labour) . Coventry North West is made up by the following electoral wards; Bablake, Holbrook, Radford, Sherbourne, Whoberly and Woodlands.
