About Carers UK

Carers UK
Carers UK is a registered charity that provides support to anyone who is a carer.
We undertake a variety of work to support the needs of carers - this includes:
  • Providing information and advice to carers. CarersLine - our freephone advice service - is staffed by expert advisers. Click on contacts on the main menu for the number. A range of free booklets are also available. See our news and publications section for details.
  • Campaigning for a better deal for carers. This is achieved by lobbying central and local government, and raising awareness among employers, health professionals, members of the media and the general public about issues that affect carers. For more information on out campaigning work click the link on the right of this page.
  • Supporting and commissioning research. This helps us get a better understanding of the problems facing carers and develop policies based on their real needs.
  • Providing training and advice to professionals who work with carers. This helps to ensure carers get the support they need. For details of the support we offer click on the link on the right of this page.
  • We also have offices in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales that deal with issues that are relevant to the needs of carers in each nation. If you live in one of these nations and would like local information please go to the menu at the top of this page and choose your nation.

Carers UK has a valued membership of 14,000 carers and former carers who have a major voice in the running of the organisation - this helps ensure we support carers as effectively as possible. To find out more about becoming a member of Carers UK click here.
