The Speaker has ejected a Plaid Cymru MP from the Commons after he claimed Tony Blair had lied to parliament over Iraq.
Adam Price was thrown out of the Commons chamber after he said the prime minister had personally misled MPs over the case for the conflict.
Price is leading a group of MPs pressing for the prime minister to be impeached over the flawed intelligence used to justify a pre-emptive strike against Iraq.
During a session of business questions on Thursday, Price called on Commons leader Peter Hain to condemn the prime minister.
"Tomorrow is the second anniversary of the vote on the war in Iraq. The motion of impeachment is before us," he said.
"There is compelling evidence that the prime minister misled this House in taking us to war. Isn't it high time we held him to account?"
But Michael Martin warned that the MP "must withdraw that remark" or remove himself from the chamber.
"The honourable gentleman must withdraw that remark. The honourable gentleman must leave the chamber. He must withdraw from the chamber," said the speaker.
Following Price's exit, Hain accused the MP of mounting "stunts deliberately contrived to get a headline".
But speaking after his expulsion Price was unapologetic - insisting he would not let "Tony Blair's lies and deceit be forgotten".
"Most people now believe that the prime minister deliberately deceived parliament and the people," he said.
"He even deceived members of his own Cabinet in taking us to war two years ago. But the rules of the game in Westminster mean we cannot say what most of us think.
"The prime minister misled us and MPs must be able to debate the issue."
