Select Committee News
Sandra Osborne has been appointed to the prestigious Foreign Affairs Select Committee which is regarded as one of the most important and high powered Select Committees. The committee is charged with investigating and scrutinising the administration, expenditure and policy of the Foriegn and Commonwealth Office. Select Committee membership reflects party strength within the House of Commons. The committees are able to question ministers, civil servants and others on relevant subjects and submit reports with recommendations to Parliament. The Government is required to respond to all Select Committee reports.
