Sandra Osborne comments on Troon Jobcentre potential closure

Troon Dundonald and Loans Labour Party have launched a petition to keep Jobcentre provision in Troon in response to a consultation by Jobcentreplus which could see local unemployed people travelling to Ayr and Irvine.

She said:

"I welcome the support of the local Labour Party in my campaign to retain local services in Troon. I have ensured that the consultation process is extended and have raised my concerns with the Minister for Work.

"The changes will not take place for some time and are generally positive.

"However, I am concerned that a town the size of Troon should continue to have access to employment services as well as the surrounding rural area.

"I will present the petition to the House of Commons and the Dept for Work and Pensions ."
