Government funding increase for Combat Stress (Hollybush House)
Sandra Osborne has welcomed the announcement of increased Government funding for Hollybush House, Combat Stress’s Ayrshire residential home for former members of the Armed Forces suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and clinical depression. Sandra explained
“I have campaigned for some time to get this extra fiunding including securing a debate at Westminster on the issue. I am delighted the Government have agreed to increase the eligible daily fees for residents from £180 to £260 a day. This is so important given the hugely increased workload of the Charity as a result of action in Iraq and Afghanistan on top of the excellent work continuing with veterans of all ages who have served in a range of conflicts over the years.’
Sandra added
‘This announcement comes at a good time with the new wing at Hollybush House due to open which was the result of some fantastic fundraising both within Ayrshire and beyond.’
