Local MP welcomes expected announcement on New Scottish Centre

Ayr MP Sandra Osborne has responded to the expected announcement that the New Prestwick Air Traffic Control Centre will go ahead.

She said:

"I have been fighting for the New Centre ever since I was elected, including persuading the Government to make it a legally binding requirement in the legislation. I am delighted it will now go ahead following its postponement due to the downturn in traffic post September 11 as it is vitally important to Ayrshire and Scotland in terms of jobs and its contribution to the local economy."
