Sandra Osborne MP says she is bitterly disappointed at decision of NHS A&A to centralise Paediatric Services at Crosshouse Hospital
Ayr MP Sandra Osborne has expressed her dissatisfaction with the decision taken today by the Health Board to downgrade provision at Ayr Hospital.
Sandra said:
"I was hoping - right up to the last minute- that the Board would take up my suggestion to locate the merged service at Ayr Hospital. However that suggestion was turned down flat and the decision has now been taken to centralise Paediatric In-Patient Services at Crosshouse Hospital.
I am concerned that the decision to locate at Crosshouse has been taken for reasons other than clinical necessity.
I will be monitoring the implementation of this decision very closely. As an MP it is my duty to ensure that services are not downgraded for the children in my constituency.
In my view it would have been better to wait until the outcome of the complete Services Review was known before acting on this matter".
