Burns Museum
Sandra Osborne, MP for Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock welcomes the Heritage Lottery Fund announcement of £5.8 million for a new Burns museum.
The Burns National Heritage Park in Alloway is to be transformed as a prime visitor attraction and it is planned to be completed in 2009 so that it can form an integral part of Burns’ bicentenary celebrations and the ‘Year of Homecoming’.
Sandra said:
‘I am delighted at the Heritage Lottery Fund announcement of a Stage One Pass for a grant of £5,827,000 to create a new Burns museum. At last Burns legacy has been given the recognition it deserves and the museum will be a centrepiece for Burns’ home town.’
