“Following on from the discovery of two cars in London packed with explosive devices and the attempted suicide attack at Glasgow airport Roger Godsiff said ‘the Police, Security Services with the vigilance of other public services have prevented another appalling at mass murder in London and Glasgow. The fact that one of the devices was parked outside of a popular London nightclub shows the sole intention of the killers was to kill and maim as many young people as possible. Suicide bombers at Glasgow Airport deliberately picked a busy holiday period in order to try and kill families with young children. The fact that one of the attempted suicide bombers at Glasgow Airport is now being given the best NHS medical attention in order to keep him alive while it has now been reported that a number of people who the Police and Security Services have arrested were actually Doctors working within the NHS will not be lost on the public of this country. These two attempts at mass murder are a chilling reminder that there are, sadly, individuals within our society who do not want to live in a secular, tolerant democratic society and will stop at nothing to destroy our society and to replace it with their own religious law. Each and every one of us, of every different race and creed while British citizens and who want to live in a secular society under the rule of law have a responsibility to speak out against attempts of mass murder and to report to the authorities any suspicious activities which they have knowledge of. This is particularly true of the communities from which the murderers and suicide bombers come from. There will, I am sure, be some people who try and ‘deny’ what has happened, as some people have done in the past when similar outrages have occurred, and try and protest that this is some sort of Machiavellian plot dreamed up by MI5 or MI6 to target one particular section of our society. People who try and ‘deny’ what has happened and others who try and offer ‘excuses or justifications’ for attempted mass murder are nothing more than apologists for terrorism.
Anybody wishing to report any suspicious activities can contact the Anti-Terrorist hotline on 0800 789321.”
