Further Comment on Government Education Cuts

I have been deluged by responses on my email on Education cuts; a few are copied below.

Question: What did Harold Wilson do for me?

Answer: He gave the nation the Open University and kept my generation out of Vietnam.

Question: What did Tony Blair do for me?

Answer: He gave us Education Tuition Fees and put our youngsters into Iraq & Afghanistan DB …(promoting not tackling terrorism)

And today John Denham announces free language lessons for immigrants! MH

Well Bob, this news of  the Government making a real hash of things-what is it coming to when the everyday person is deprived of an education of trying to improve themselves. MP

You are so right.   Its about time more of you politicians came out fighting on these issues.  Education at all levels is our countries investment in our future.   We need british jobs for british people. BH

At a time when we have 17% of our potential workforce, including many young people, permanently paid to be unemployed, we should be focusing on giving these people skills not allowing more and more people to enter this country without reasonable controls.

This would take pressure off our public services and reduce the housing shortage that is preventing British youngsters from getting onto the housing ladder.

I believe these are important issues of public policy and it is not racist for politicians to openly discuss them.  That said, last time I tried to do so, I was called racist and denounced for ‘playing the race card’.
