Police action to tackle boy racers
Local MP Dr Bob Spink says:
“ I welcome police action to tackle boy racers who make residents’ lives a misery, damage our environment and put them selves and the public at risk.
“New Castle Point District Commander Chief Inspector Paul Eveleigh is making this one of his community priorities.
“He is reviewing the actions over the past 4 months, including reports of nuisance or noisy vehicles and identifying peak nuisance times so that intelligence led police patrols can be targeted most effectively. In addition, he is appointing PC 2094 Andy Blunt, who is part of the Neighbourhood Policing Team on Canvey, as a single point of contact,
“I congratulate the council and police on the action they have taken already, such as regular police patrols, gates and road calming measures, and I welcome this new police initiative to tackle what is a very serious problem.”
