MP praises green flags for Warrington

Warrington North MP HELEN JONES praised Risley Moss Local Nature Reserve and Burtonwood Cemetery for achieving Green Flag Awards.

For the last ten years the Green Flag Awards have been instrumental in promoting and recognising the achievements in green space maintenance and management. Both Risley Moss and Burtonwood Cemetery were awarded the flags at a ceremony in Birmingham in August.

HELEN JONES said:

“ The Green Flag Award Scheme is an important part of the government’s commitment to delivering cleaner, safer, greener communities. The aim is to ensure that every community has access to good quality green spaces and the green flag award recognises the great achievements and dedication of those managing green spaces. Congratulations are due to all the staff involved for the hard work that has been rightly recognised at Risley and Burtonwood. “
