Ann Coffey MP welcomes great news about new community hospital
Stockport is to get the go-ahead tomorrow (Wednesday May 7) for a new £22.8 million community hospital centre at Shaw Heath.
Ben Bradshaw, the health minister, confirmed in the House of Commons this afternoon that the Strategic Health Authority will announce approval for the new hospital centre when it meets tomorrow (Wednesday May 7).
The minister was responding to a question from Ann Coffey, MP for Stockport, who has campaigned for the new hospital centre.
Ms Coffey said: “What fantastic news! This will be a wonderful new health facility for the people of Stockport and I am absolutely delighted that the go-ahead has been given for this innovative and visionary project.”
