Pupils come up with winning designs for Ann’s Christmas card
The talented pupils of Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School in Edgeley have designed Stockport MP Ann Coffey’s 2007 Christmas card. Not for Ann the traditional Westminster scene: she has chosen this year to ask local children to show her what Christmas means to them.
Ann said: “Christmas time is all about children, and I wanted the pupils at Our Lady’s to show me what Christmas means to them. As the artwork shows, Christmas means much more than Santa and presents.”
Ann continued: “ I am very proud to show off these beautiful designs from a Stockport primary school, but it was so hard to make a final choice. In the end we picked one design for the front of the card, and six for the back!”
The children from each class, from the nursery up to Year 6, created artwork for Ann’s Christmas card. The design on the front of the card is by 7-year-old Rosa Dwyer, and shows a pine forest shining in the starry night sky.
Ann Coffey will take part in Our Lady’s school assembly on Friday to say a special thank-you to all the children who took part, and to present some prizes to Olivia, Edward, Harry, Chantel, Declan, Toni Marie and Rosa, whose designs all feature on our 2007 Christmas card.
