No Pain No Gain for ASDA fundraiser

Stockport MP Ann Coffey will be at ASDA on Friday to help the staff raise money for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer  “Pink” campaign as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Hoping to encourage many shoppers to drop their money into the collecting buckets will be Doug Warley, Head Porter at ASDA, who has agreed to have his legs waxed on the day in aid of Tickled Pink.

Ann Coffey said:

“I think it’s really important to go on raising awareness of breast cancer, so that women go for treatment early.  We are extending the NHS breast screening programme for women up to age 73, and doing more to fast-track women with suspected breast cancer so that they get the treatment they need. Thanks to early detection and diagnosis, survival rates for breast cancer are improving all the time.”

After meeting the fund-raisers, Ann Coffey will be doing an in-store advice surgery for any of her constituents who would like to speak to her.
