PDFaLoud - making ePaper accessible

|
PDFaloud is a new add-on tool bar for Adobe Acrobat which renders text accessible for speech feedback. Now through the use of this exciting new technology Portable Document Files can be listened to!
PDFaloud opens up a new world of opportunities for many Acrobat Reader users who traditionally struggle with reading PDF files. With public and private organizations under more and more pressure to provide equal access to all information, PDFaloud helps meet many legal requirements and promotes best practice. While PDF is often regarded as inaccessible to many forms of assistive technology, the simple PDFaloud plug-in to Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader means dramatic new accessibility for struggling readers, even those with mild visual impairments.
Hundreds of Government departments produce thousands of PDF documents on a daily basis, yet these documents which may be used internally by employees or externally by the public remain inaccessible if the viewers struggle with reading or visual disabilities. By implementing PDFaloud, all documents can now be heard and understood by those who are required to either read the content or indeed fill out online forms.
