Speculation has begun on who the inspiration is for a new BBC sitcom centering on a Cabinet minister besieged by Number 10 targets.

The lead character in Armando Iannucci's "In the thick of it" - described as "'Yes, minister' for the spin generation" - could be the "bastard love child of Stephen Byers and Alan Milburn" the Times reports.
