Watchdog worried about PFI sales

The National Audit Office is set to investigate the buying and selling of private finance initiative contracts.

Parliament's spending watchdog is understood to be concerned at the level of profits being made by the private sector in the public realm.

But the Treasury is thought to be cool on levying a windfall tax on the profits made from the sale of PFI assets.
