Cox defends IoD leadership

George Cox has defended his leadership of the Institute of Directors over the last five years.

As he left the post, Cox said he was right to engage in dialogue with the government.

"I had a discussion with a member of the shadow Cabinet who said: 'You are not being confrontational enough with the government'," Cox said.

"I said: 'Sorry, but I thought that was your job.'"
