Warning over graduate expansion

The government's plans to massively expand universities will turn degrees into "lottery tickets" that offer graduates no guarantee of a good job, according to a study by academics at Warwick and Oxford universities.

"The wider consequences of expansion have either not been considered or have been assumed to be either neutral or benign," Ewart Keep and Ken Mayhew conclude in the government-funded report.
