Civil service union expresses 'disgust' at job cuts

The Public and Commercial Services Union has condemned government plans to axe jobs in the civil service.

At its conference, the union moved a motion expressing its "disgust at the cheap attempts by politicians of all parties to see who can cut the highest number of civil service jobs".

PCS leader Mark Serwotka warned of a "mass casualisation" of the service if the cuts are pushed through.
