MPs slam ministers over aviation pollution
The government attempted to conceal the scale of the environmental pollution which will result from allowing air travel to triple, a committee of MPs said yesterday.
The Department for Transport tried to "massage down" the figures but still conceded that a third of all greenhouse gas emissions would come from aviation by 2050.
The Commons environmental audit committee described the DfT's submission as "superficial and evasive".
