TUC steps into BA row
The TUC general secretary Brendan Barber will this week meet with union chiefs and British Airways bosses in a bid to avert catastrophic strike action.
The unions are expected to repeat their concerns about the introduction of swipe cards for ground staff working at Heathrow airport.
BA chief executive Rod Eddington, who meets TGWU boss Sir Bill Morris today, has warned that strike action could irreparably damage the company.
