Earthquake Disaster in Turkey

Commenting on the earthquake disaster in Bingol de Deprem,Turkey, Doug McAvoy, General Secretary of the National Union of Teachers, said:

The memory of the Aberfan disaster which took away thelives of so many pupils will be with me forever. The tragedy in Turkey is a stark reminder of that loss.

The thoughts of NUT members will be with the teachers,parents and pupils in Turkey. I havesent my condolences to those personally affected by the tragedy on behalf ofthe Union.
