BrixhamEnvironmental Laboratory joins NOAH

 

The NationalOffice of Animal Health has gained six new members this year, the latest beingBrixham Environmental Laboratory.

The laboratory,which provides a multidisciplinary service to industry for the investigationand resolution of environmental issues, was voted into associate membership atthe NOAH Board meeting of 22 October.

Based in Devon,Brixham Environmental Laboratory field and investigation teams look at the fateand effects of products and wastes in water, air and soil environments.

"Demonstratingsafety to the environment is an important part of the marketing authorisationprocess for all animal medicines," said NOAH director Roger Cook. "Itis as much part of the process as demonstrating efficacy, quality and the othersafety criteria such as safety to the animal, to the user of the medicine andto the consumer. We are delighted to have the benefit of Brixham EnvironmentalLaboratory's specialist knowledge in this area, and hope that we can be of goodservice to them."
