Government backs London Olympic bid

Commenting on the Governments announcement of support for the bid tohost the 2012 Olympics, Doug McAvoy, NUT General Secretary said:

This is a far better way of promoting a healthy lifestyle than theGovernments support for Cadburys vouchers for sports equipment for schools.

If the bid is successful, it will provide an enormous stimulus toschool sports and will help encourage our young people to participate.
