Health Professions Council releases CPD consultation document
The Health Professions Council (HPC) is holding a consultation on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) during September, October and November this year. During this consultation we will present our ideas on how we will link CPD to re-registration.
The HPC has now released the proposed standards and guidance for Continuing Professional Development.
The document will be posted to all registrants over the next two weeks and a copy can now be downloaded from the HPC website:
The Health Professions Council has defined CPD as a range of learning activities that take place throughout the registrant's career. CPD is to ensure registrants develop their skills and knowledge and that they retain their capacity to practise safely, effectively and legally within their evolving scope of practice.
Fiona Nixon, Director of Education and Policy said "We are looking forward to listening to registrant and stakeholder views on the proposed standards, and to developing a framework that is robust and comprehensive.
"Anyone who wishes to take part in the consultation, and have their views heard can write to us with their comments by post or email. They can also attend one of the CPD events that we are holding in 23 locations across the UK. We look forward to hearing a variety of views and ideas."
