AMTRA Pet Care Top Student Rewarded
At the NOAH annual dinner inLondon, the top student of the Animal Medicines Training Regulatory AuthorityCompanion Animal Medicines (GSL) Sales Staff Examination has beenrewarded. Best Student Award, sponsoredby the Pet Care Trust, goes to EllieButler of Beaphar UK.
A Business Studies graduate fromNorthampton University, Ellie spent time working for Avon and Plastic-KoteSpray Paint before joining Beaphar in 2001. Her role at Beaphar UK includesmanaging the marketing mix for the Sherleys range of products (excluding milkpowder), which includes shampoos, wormers and flea products.
The Training and Certification ofCompanion Animal Medicines (GSL) Sales Staff award, which comes under theumbrella of the Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority, was devised bythe Pet Care Trust, with full support from NOAH and AMTRA. It is designed for retailers of GSL petmedicines to the public and for manufacturers sales representatives sellingpet medicines on the General Sales List to retailers.

AMTRA maintains Registers ofAMTRA qualified persons and through the disciplinary responsibilities of itsEthics Committee ensures that those on the Registers conform with the relevantlaw and if applicable with the AMTRA Code of Good Practice.
3. The Pet Care Trust is aprofessional body supported by every sector of the British pet care industry.Its principal aims are:
topromote responsible pet ownership
toimprove the standards of pet keeping
toraise the awareness of the benefits of pet keeping
toprovide training programmes for people working in the industry
toprovide advice to pet owners
4. TheNational Office of Animal Health was formed on 1 January 1986 to represent theUK companies which research, develop,manufacture and market licensed animal health products. The association has 36corporate members and 13associate members. In 2002 NOAH's members accounted for well over 90% of the 389 million UK animal health market
