[Embargoed until 12 noon]
The FDA todaywelcomed the introduction of a code of conduct for NHS managers, announced bychief executive of the Department of Health and NHS Nigel Crisp, in his speechto the Institute of Health Care Management today.
The union has beenconsulted during the drafting process and is pleased that many of theamendments suggested have been amalgamated into the final code.
Paul Whiteman, theFDAs NHS spokesman said:
Weare pleased that the code contains rights as well as responsibilities. We verymuch hope that these rights will carry the same weight as the responsibilitiesand that the code will not become a tool used to remove managers that no longerhold political favour.
