NewHealth & Safety Tests Launched

Six new health andsafety tests are being launched on 1st December - five different HVACR(heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration) tests and one Liftand Escalator test.

The HVACR tests havebeen created in response to requests from various heating and ventilatingassociations and will need to be passed in order for a candidate to qualify foran ESS SKILL card. They will consist of 35 questions (30 questions from thegeneral question bank and five from the specialist area) to be answered in 45minutes.

The fivesub-categories are:
- Domestic heating and plumbing services
- Pipefitting/welding (industrial and commercial)
- Duct work
- Refrigeration and air conditioning
- Service and facilities

The lift andescalator test has been created at the request of the Lift and EscalatorAssociation and will be required to obtain a CSCS card in the followingoccupations:
- Lift installer
- Lift maintenance operative
- Escalator installer
- Platform lift installer
