The 2002/03 edition of the NOAH Compendium ofData Sheets for Veterinary Products was launched on 21 October at theassociations Annual Conference in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Steve Dean, Chief Executive of the VeterinaryMedicines Directorate, said: The NOAH Compendium of Data Sheets for VeterinaryProducts plays a key rule in the regulation of animal medicines in the UK. It contains data sheets for more than 1000products, providing vital information for the veterinary surgeon as well asoffering an information source for the public.

The Compendium helps to ensure animal medicinesare used effectively and safely, an important issue for consumers and thehealth and welfare of animals, he added.

The inclusion, in this latest edition, of awithdrawal period table will help veterinary surgeons ensure that the use ofauthorised animal medicines is safe for the consumer of meat and dairy produce.

I would congratulate NOAH on its content andits contribution towards the safe and effective use of veterinary medicines inthe UK, said Mr. Dean.
