Health Professions Council Launches New Website

The Health Professions Council (HPC) has launched a new website. The website address remains the same (www.hpc-uk.org) but the site has undergone a complete redesign that will make accessing information about the HPC easier.

Based on feedback received, including specific market research, the site is as easy to use as possible.  Meaning that whether you're a registrant or a member of the public it should be easy to find the information you're looking for.

New legislation means that organisations must ensure their websites are fully accessible for disabled users. The site has been designed in accordance with guidelines laid down by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) and the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).

The site has also retained its Crystal Mark, given by the Plain English Campaign. Chrissie Maher, founder director of Plain English Campaign said...
"The site is easy to navigate thanks to excellent links and signposts. The search option and site map are particularly useful. The site looks very 'clean' and professional. There is a very detailed guide to accessibility which will meet the needs for users with disabilities. The use of language and presentation are very web-friendly and meet all our plain English guidelines. We had no hesitation about approving the HPC's new website and we look forward to seeing the Internet Crystal Mark logo on it."

The site is designed to look like the HPC's brochures and publications, with colour-coded navigation bars. The site has been designed to be brighter, more colourful and more appealing.

Tony Glazier, Web Manager said..."The website remains the most cost-effective and efficient way of making large amounts of information available to large numbers of people. I am delighted with the new site and hope that everyone using it will find it easier to navigate and more accessible."
