BUPAlaunches personal health service campaign

BUPA isset to launch its new advertising campaign this week (8th July). The nationalcampaign, created by WCRS, includes two new TV commercials, five press andthree radio ads. In the TV advertisements, real BUPA staff make their TV debutsand demonstrate how BUPA delivers a truly personal health service to itscustomers.

 

Thecampaign's creative idea uses medical facts to illustrate how BUPA takes bettercare of you.

 

LizAdair, who is manager of the Reading BUPA Wellness Centre, explains thatalthough heart disease may be the UK's largest killer, early diagnosis andtreatment can help stop it progressing. Shown in her place of work, Liz pointsout that BUPA can help 'keep people ticking' with services from health checksto heart operations. She says: "Health assessments to detect problemsearly are just as important as treating the illness itself. At BUPA, we takewellness as seriously as illness."

 

JillPollock, a manager of BUPA's musculoskeletal services, explains that backproblems affect over 16 million people a year in the UK, but that appropriatetreatment can work wonders. Interacting with a team of BUPA back specialists,Jill demonstrates that BUPA provides a comprehensive personal health servicefrom assessments and treatment through to aftercare.

 

EileenFolan, BUPA brand director explains the rationale behind the new televisioncampaign: "The two new advertisements - 'heart care' and 'back care' -illustrate BUPA's personal health service and reinforce our expertise inprevention, early diagnosis and treatment, as well as care. At the heart of thecampaign is the message that everyone at BUPA is dedicated to your health andcare."

 

Liz andJill said that being part of the advertisements was a great experience,especially as it showed them in their day-to-day working life, giving them theopportunity to demonstrate the commitment they feel about making people well.

 

GrahamHitchmough, account director at WCRS said: "It was very important for usto build upon the messages of last year's BUPA campaign. By focusing on significanthealth issues such as heart and back care, we hope to impress upon people thefull scope and variety of BUPA's services, beyond simply private medicalinsurance. And by continuing to feature genuine BUPA staff within thecommercials, we hope to give a flavour of the expertise and dedication thatexists throughout the organisation."
