Foundation Stage Profile Assessments

Commenting on the publication of this years foundation stage profile assessments
Steve Sinnott, General Secretary of the National Union of Teachers said:

“Comparisons between last year’s and this year’s foundation stage profile assessments would be spurious. Last years assessments were riddled with difficulties as teachers came to terms with the new scheme.

“The assessments are qualitative judgements on such issues as a child’s personal development and cannot be presented as simple numerical results or in league table form.

“Over time teachers will refine the system to assure consistency of approach”.
