Show Racism the Red Card

Prize giving ceremonies, for winners of our anti-racist schools competition, to be attended by top professional footballers. The ceremonies will take place on:

Wednesday 26th April, 2pm at The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic FC
Thursday 27th April, 2pm at Gigg Lane, home of Bury FC
Tuesday 2nd May, 2pm at Newcastle Civic Centre.

Ged Grebby, Project Coordinator, said, “This year’s competition has again seen a fantastic range of posters, artwork, poetry and films, with an anti-racist message, produced by young people throughout the UK. Winning schools from Milton Keynes, Solihull, Co Durham, Liverpool, Middlesbrough, Winchester, Essex, Bury, Oldham, Spilsby and Andover will attend our ceremonies and get their prizes and certificates.

Prizes include match tickets, autographed shirts and balls and trips to meet players at their training grounds. Thierry Henry has agreed to present one of the prizes at Arsenal.

The competition has been sponsored by the National Union of Teachers and the winning school will get a computer off them.
The winning pieces of work will be on display at our events and will be used in our magazine, which will be ready in time for the World Cup.    Check out our website: www.TheRedCard.org
