THERE HAVE been numerous reports into the NHS treatment of black psychiatric patients, but there is, however, one report, namely the report of the 1993 Committee of Inquiry into the deaths in Broadmoor Hospital of Orville Blackwood and of two other African-Caribbean patients, Michael Martin and Joseph Watts, which are of particular relevance in the context of this most recent report into the death, while in hospital, of Mr Bennett.
