MSPs switch debates to new chamber
This week's Scottish parliament plenary sessions will take place outside the Holyrood building, it has been confirmed.
Meetings scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday will instead take place in the The Hub at the top of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.
The debating chamber is being inspected by structural engineers following a safety scare when a beam came loose from its mounting.
However committee business continues as scheduled in Holyrood.
The parliament authorities have also said they are commissioning independent structural engineering consultants to review the problem.
Presiding officer George Reid said: "Our focus must be to ensure public safety. As information becomes available, we shall make this public.
"In the meantime, the parliament is delivering on its full programme of business."
