Conservatives maintain Scottish presence
The Conservatives have maintained a single seat presence in the reorganised Scottish constituencies.
David Mundell won the Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale seat.
Mundell secured a majority of just under 2,000 - a notional swing of eight per cent from Labour.
But there was disappointment for the Scottish Tories elsewhere.
In neighbouring Dumfries and Galloway former shadow Scotland secretary Peter Duncan was defeated by Labour.
