This most inelegant creation has given the Labour party a surprisingly safe seat, albeit not a completely rock solid one and Labour’s hold would probably not survive the event of a Tory landslide.

So it is on that basis that Mike Hall can look forward to a continuing residence on the green benches of the House of Commons, at least in the foreseeable future.
