Constituency profile

Under the recent Scottish boundary changes the Motherwell and Wishaw seat has been kept together and has been enlarged with the addition of Cleland from the old Airdrie and Shotts seat, and Orbiston, Mossend West and Thorndean as well as Mossend East and New Stevenston North from the old Hamilton North and Bellshill seat.

The new seat will continue to be a safe Labour constituency and Frank Roy will expect to keep the seat at the general election.
