Constituency profile

This is a new seat formed as part of the Scottish boundary changes. 

It comprises the old Paisley South seat with the addition of two wards from the old Paisley North seat and three wards from the old West Renfrewshire.

However the changes should do little to harm Douglas Alexander's chances of securely holding the seat for Labour at the election.
