Constituency profile

Under the Scottish boundary changes, the Livingston seat stayed intact and was enlarged with the addition of Blackburn and Fauldhouse from the old Linlithgow.

Robin Cook is in an enviable position as a sitting Labour MP with no other member with a claim on his seat following the large-scale changes.

While the constituency may come under challenge from the SNP at Scottish Parliament level in the future it will remain safe for Labour at the next general election.
