Constituency profile

This is a new constituency formed under the Scottish boundary changes.

It comprises the old Maryhill division with the addition of the Kelvindale ward among others.

There is a chance that the expelled Labour MP for Glasgow Kelvin, George Galloway, may choose the North division as his battleground against New Labour.

Barring this unpredictable eventuality it seems certain that Ann McKechin will stay in the House of Commons as the Labour MP for Glasgow North.
