Newcastle-under-Lyme’s demographics have changed over the past generation and the local economy is also evolving; it is not the stereotypical Labour territory that it once was.

The party is finding it harder here at the local government level now, but at the national level, the seat has so far shown no sign of deviating from its Labour tradition.

We should expect to see Paul Farrelly here for some time to come.
