Under recent Scottish boundary changes the wards of Dean from Edinburgh central, Craigleith from Edinburgh West and Pilton from Edinburgh West have been added to this constituency.

The changes mean that the seat is now marginally less safe for Labour than the old seat but electoral trends and polls in the city would strongly suggest that Mark Lazarowicz has little to worry about at the next general election.
